Every Monday on this website, you can catch the "Unofficial Official Rams Recap" - documenting the events of the past Sunday. Plan on it. Every Monday. And no, the Rams don't have a Monday Night game this year, thus forcing the aforementioned "recap" to be featured on a Tuesday. Stay focused, wise guy.
Anyway, one of the features we've thoroughly enjoyed is keeping tallies on the very items that have handicapped the Rams over the past few seasons - namely, terrible defense against the run, abysmal defensive coverage, and horrific quarterback protection.
At Week One, we set the over/under for the amount of "sacks allowed per game" at *three*. We felt it was a good number, and the Rams have been all around that number, compiling an average of 3.66 sacks/game through the first three weeks.
ESPN's "Pardon The Interruption" also thought it was a good number. They played a little "over/under" themselves on Thursday afternoon, and attempted to guess if the Rams would allow more/less than 3 sacks against the AFC East leading Buffalo Bills.
With Trent Green and his peach-soft noggin' joining the ranks this Sunday, even more focus will be placed on the offensive line, and the amount of hits they allow on their oft-concussed quarterback.
Hosts Tony Kornheiser and Dan Le Batard both agreed - the Rams will give up more than 3 sacks this week.
Can't say we disagree.
However, if PTI suddenly ask what phrase would fit on a fake Scott Linehan insiprational poster, we're calling them on it.
