Happy Wednesday everyone. I know it seems crazy, but the upgrade of Jim Haslett as head coach makes me care about my hometown team again. Sure, he's coaching the worst defense in the league and it seems quite peculiar to promote the coordinator of the worst D, but something about Haslett as head coach is more positive than Linehan. Maybe it's the fact that he's, oh, I don't know, intense ... passionate ... willing to show emotion. Like any form of emotion.
No offense to Scott Linehan, but there was no way this team was going to show any form of positive emotion under his watch. I think yesterday I actually saw Marc Bulger crack a smile. That's quite a feat.

Speaking of Jimbo Haslett, he got in the face of Joe Klopfenstein Tuesday. That's how bad things are at Rams Park ... when the coach gets in a player's face, it's news. YAY! We're on the right path! [STL Today]

SI's John Heyman is a complete and utter moron. Not only does he award the NL MVP to Ryan Howard, he ranks Pujols FIFTH. That's truly absurd. [SI]
