Great start to the 2008 NL Playoffs if you're a vindictive Cardinals fan.  First the Brewers lost 3-1 to the Phillies, getting completely shut down by Cole Hamels.  Then in the prime time slot, the Cubs got smoked by the Dodgers for their seventh straight postseason loss.

I want to pretend that I'm not petty enough to actively root against the Cubs in the playoffs, rather just have demonstrate general indifference, but that certainly wasn't the case when James Loney destroyed a Ryan Dempster pitch for a grand slam last night in Wrigley.  My smile was a little too wide to be considered indifferent.

Both the Brewers and the Cubbies have a shot at redemption tonight and both will be counting on their big guns on the mound - Sabathia for the Brewers, Zambrano for the Cubs.  Lose Game #2 and things become really difficult for the NL Central contingent.

Best of luck to them.  And we all know that I didn't really mean that.
