If this week's activities from Rams Park have taught us anything, it's that Jim Haslett and Scott Linehan didn't exactly see eye to eye. Haslett has already reinstated Marc Bulger as the starting quarterback and seemingly won back the team. By all accounts, Haslett and Bulger are working together.
The thing is, we saw this happen last year so it shouldn't have caught any of us by surprise. Not on the field, but in the imaginary squared circle of the demented mind of your's truly. It was last year that I ran a mini-series of posts treating the Rams soap opera as the ultimate male soap opera: the WWE.
First we had Marc Bulger publicly rip the Rams head coach for sucking. Then as a disgruntled Bulger was all but forgotten by the Linehan regime, Jim Haslett entered the fold to win his rightful starting quarterback back. Finally, the tandem of Bulger and Haslett was ambushed by Linehan as a result of the Haslett/Bulger alliance. The WWE Rams episode also resulted in Isaac Bruce's eventual dismissal, though by other means.
I'm not trying to toot thy horn, I'm laying out a simple premise: Vince McMahon knows more about the NFL than you. That and, whenever John Shaw admits that he hired Linehan to sabotage the Rams in an attempt to move them back to Los Angeles, you shouldn't be surprised. If you want an additional premise, calling me a dork is perfectly acceptable.
