During the 2006 playoff run, we posted a picture of potentially the most extreme St. Louis Cardinals fan in the team's 100+ year existence.  In case you forgot, let us refresh your memory.

Ah yes, there he is.  Granted, it was October baseball, so the need to bundle up was essential.  This guy took those instructions a little *too* literal, as he grabbed virtually everything red and tacked it to his body.  But times have changed.  The current Cardinals roster only features 8 players from the 2006 squad, and more importantly, the centerpiece of this fan's wardrobe, the faux Spiezio soulpatch - is no longer relevant (although, we contend that it was never relevant and always stupid).

We oft-wondered what happened to our October friend?  Someone sent us the answer.

Sure enough, it's our old friend, Mr. Extreme himself.

As you can see, he's altered his get-up a bit, but his desire for the birds on the bat hasn't changed at all.  It's good to know he's still pumping along, and will see the Cardinals through a baseball-less October in '07 and '08.

One thing to notice is the apprentice on the right.   It's good to know St. Louis is in good hands for years to come.
