If I seem a bit incoherent this morning, just blame the Rams.  I'm still trying to figure out this new world that I'm living in.  The one where the Rams are capable of beating the Dallas Cowboys 34-14.  Suddenly bad is good, good is bad, Donnie Avery is Jerry Rice, James Hall is Lawrence Taylor and fortunately, Brad Johnson is still Brad Johnson.

Sebek will have a full recap later today, but sitting in the upper deck on Sunday, I can confirm that it was a mini flashback to the beginning of this century, when the team seemingly scored at will, came up with huge defensive plays and got the crowd whipped into an NFL-caliber frenzy.  Playing in the lackluster NFC West, things could take a positive turn if Jim Haslett can keep up this level of play.

Yeah, I wasn't lying, the Rams actually beat the Cowboys 34-14.  Really.  I got proof right here and everything. [STL Today]

All wasn't great though, as the star of the game, Steven Jackson, left late with a thigh injury [STL Today]

The ALCS was an interesting study in neutral fandom - we had to determine if we wanted to see the Red Sox make it to the World Series again and have to be inundated with media gushing, or if we wanted to see the Rays win and be subjected to watching upwards of 4 World Series games at the worst baseball facility this side of Minnesota.  Tough call, but I think we all got the better option after Game 7 last night [ESPN.com]

The loss to the Rams was enough for Dallas Morning news columnist Tim Cowlishaw to call for some drastic action by Jerry Jones [Dallas Morning News]

For all the positivity coming from Rams Park, the same cannot be said for Columbia, MO.  We'd rather not talk about Saturday night in Austin, but we will say that the national rankings were more kind to Mizzou than we would have been [AP and Coaches Poll]

While the rumors are buzzing around St. Louis, Ken Rosenthal doesn't think the Cardinals are a good fit with San Diego for Jake Peavy.  [Fox Sports]
